The annual World Water Day will be celebrated on March 22 to focus attention on the importance of freshwater and to advocate for sustainable management of freshwater resources. World Water Day was celebrated for the first time twenty years ago and 2013 has been declared the “United Nations International Year of Water Cooperation.”In recognition of World Water Day, the U.S. Embassy in Sweden is launching a photo contest and challenges you to send your best environment- or water-themed photo to sagastory[a]gmail.com. Please submit your contribution before March 20. Remember to mention where and when the photograph was taken.
The winner’s contribution will be announced on the SAGA website on World Water Day and be on display at the U.S. Embassy in Sweden.
