Students Are Invited to Apply for REACT U.S.

s.a.g.a.Interested in visiting a U.S. city to learn about its environmentally sustainable practices?

Swedish university students are invited to apply for Research on Environmental Action and Clean Tech in U.S. Cities (REACT U.S.).

The initiative is part of the Swedish American Green Alliance (SAGA), a partnership between the United States and Sweden on clean energy and environmental sustainability. REACT U.S. is an opportunity for five Swedish university students to conduct three weeks of research on urban sustainability in the United States.

Each successful candidate will be designated a specific city where she/he will get to explore its sustainable practices. The students are expected to blog about their experiences but also to produce a report upon their return to Sweden.

U.S. Embassy Stockholm, in collaboration with Sustainable Sweden, will fund the students’ air fare, accommodation and also provide per diem.

Content of the program: The U.S. Embassy offers, under the auspices of SAGA, five grants for Swedish university students to conduct three weeks of research on the urban sustainability practices of five U.S. cities. The cities will be announced at a later stage.

Time: 3 weeks in August 2013. 

Coordinators: Sustainable Sweden Association, U.S. Embassy Stockholm.

Eligibility: You need to be a Swedish citizen, currently enrolled at a Swedish university and possess an interest in environmental sustainability.

Application Procedure: Applicants are required to complete the application form below and email it to saga[at]state.gov along with an updated CV in English. The Embassy will pass on a list of eligible candidates to Sustainable Sweden who will be making the final selection. Sustainable Sweden will be contacting the successful applicants.
