Explaining Clean Energy: Georgia Tech Graduate Student on Turning Trees Into Biofuels

Georgia Institute of Technology has submitted the following video that explains the university's graduate student research directed at converting lignin from wood into biofuel.

Building upon past and current interactions with Swedish researchers, Professor Art Ragauskas and graduate student Tyrone Wells are using the knowledge in lignin to developing biological treatments that convert this resource into fats for biodiesel.

Tyrone Wells, Jr (presenter) is a graduate research student in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta GA. Arthur Ragauskas held the first Fulbright Chair in Alternative Energy at Chalmers University ofTechnology and is a Fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science and TAPPI. His research program at Georgia Institute of Technology (GA Tech) is seeking to understand and exploit innovative sustainable bioresources.
